As I sit down to write this I realize it has been over thirteen years since I have maintained a website for myself. Back in those days it was a pretty simple server-rendered Java JSP app. I ran it on shared PC sitting in a spare bedroom of my house for several years.

"Wait a minute... What or who is this BlendedSoftware?"
...
Excellent question! First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Russell Scheerer and I've been writing code for nearly 3/4 of my life?! Currently I work as a consultant getting involved in cloud migrations, devops automation, application architecture and sometimes implementation. I know that isn't very specific, however, that simple fact is related to why we are here to begin with...
Over the years I've been lucky enough to be involved in a large range of applications. During this time I've simply been exposed to a lot of patterns, architectures, and generally really talented co-workers. Through this I've picked up quite various things and at times been responsible for piecing everything together for various development teams.
This leads us to the name: BlendedSofware
The range of technologies, approaches, application types, runtime concerns, scalability woes, etc... leads me to the idea of blended. As the years have gone by one thing seems to be true: What it takes to rapidly develop and deliver applications in a cloud-native serverless world brings with it many many more technologies than we would be concerned with fifteen or even ten years ago. Believe it or not, this name is something I thought of in 2007 with hopes of starting my own company. That never panned out, and honestly - that is perfectly fine with me. My career track as mentioned already has provided so much in the last thirteen years since that I feel like I didn't miss out.
So what is the purpose? Well, my intention for this new platform is to help provide pieces of information about how some of the pieces fit together and to share general tricks and guidance along the way.
My plan is to write articles here, Produce some videos on my YouTube channel, and stream live from time to time on Twitch.tv/blendedsoftware.
Until next time... Stay well!
